[ The Speed Egg Plus ]
DESCRIPTION
The Speed Egg Plus is another progressive member of the Mid
Length Egg Class. It's a modified version of the original Speed Egg
that maintains volume while adding a notable degree of performance
and maneuverability. Thie design features a slightly narrower nose
and tail than the Speed Egg creating more curve in the outline. It
features moderately more entry and tail rocker. The bottom contours
remain the same in entry and wide point as the Speed Egg. The rolled
panel vee wide point to tail is moderately deeper. Collectively these
design features provide fluid rail to rail transitions and more
options and variety in turning radius. The Speed Egg Plus maintains
the excellent trim and speed properties of the original Speed Egg.
This design, like all Mid Length designs, is incredibly easy to surf.
It offers exceptional paddling, turning, and trimming for surfers
from beginner and novice to expert and professional skills. The Speed
Egg Plus excels in beach breaks, reef breaks, and point breaks in
marginal to perfect conditions.
The design features a relaxed speed box or an extremely low
continuous rocker and the classic Mike Diffenderfer inspired Natural
Curves convex bottom featuring tri plane entry and wide point to
rolled panel vee from wide point to tail. The center plane of the tri
plane in the Speed Egg Plus has a shallow 1/32" concave. The outline
features a moderately pulled in nose and a classic round pin tail and
has substantial surface area for paddling, catching waves, and
stability and control riding waves. The primary fin set up for the
Speed Egg Plus is the classic 2 + 1, but it's also available as a
thruster, quad, or twin fin. These are the key features of this
versatile design. The design's simplicity is fundamental to it's
sublime and effortless carve, trim and glide performance. The Speed
Egg Plus is a relevant design for surfers of every skill level.
